Autism Management through Diet
A close friend of mine has a 10 year old boy with Autism. He was diagnosed as an infant, and was on the far end of the spectrum for severity. His mother has been dedicated to his cause since the diagnosis, and today Anthony is a high functioning, intellegent and well behaved young man. His mother has strictly guarded his diet, and kept his health in excellent condition. She has always homeschooled, although she has Anthony involoved in a Public Schools activities for supplementation. She has never looked at his condition as a disability, but rather a challenge.
Diet plays a greater role in the treatment of Autism than many realize. Many families decide to go on gluten free diet, and with great success. Some of the most important items to eliminate from the diet are dairy products, sugar, and white flour items. This would benefit any child.
