Freeks, Geeks, and Asperger Syndrome

This book was written by a 13 year old boy named Luke Jackson. It is a book written by a boy that has Aspergers syndrome. He is highly functioning and quite intelligent. He has a great sense of humor and finds many things in life to be happy about and to keep him busy. He is incredibly honest about himself and seems to have an insight that many kids his age don't begin to have. His insights into others and life in general are great. A quote from the book helps to show this: "Non- AS people say things they don't mean, miss out on things they do mean, do all sorts of strange things with their faces which apparently change the meaning of their words-- and they say AS people are odd!" Luke just has a way of picking up on little nuances in others and himself that might otherwise have gone unnoticed. This is a great book!
